Town & Country Staff Take on 24-Hour Three Peaks Challenge in Memory of Nathan Cooke

In 2023, Town & Country lost a well-loved employee, Nathan Cooke, whose life was tragically cut short by a stroke.

To honour his memory and support the Stroke Association, Dan Clifford his wife Jess Clifford, Jack Wiseman, and Richard Pyke have decided to undertake the formidable 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge on the 5th October 2024. The challenge involves scaling the three highest peaks in the UK—Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales—all within a 24-hour period. This rigorous endeavour is not just a test of physical endurance but also a heartfelt tribute to Nathan, aiming to raise awareness and funds for stroke research and support.

Understanding the Impact of a Stroke

A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off, causing brain cells to die or become damaged. This can result in the loss of abilities controlled by that area of the brain, leading to significant physical and cognitive challenges. Recovery from a stroke is often a long and arduous journey, but the brain has a remarkable ability to adapt and rewire itself. The Stroke Association plays a crucial role in providing specialist support, funding vital research, and advocating for stroke survivors. Their work is made possible through the courage and determination of the stroke community and the generosity of donors.
